Camino de Ronda and the beach of Altafulla and La Mora

It is one and a half hour by train to get to Altafulla-Tamarit station. You have to take a Media Distancia Renfe train  (not Cercanias) from the Estacion de Francia or Sants , the return  ticket costs 14 euros. From the station it is 5 minutes to get down to the beach. The coastline is really nice with some small old houses.  To walk to the Playa de Mora on the Camino de Ronda you just have to walk along the beach direction to the Castle. If you walk behind the the Castle  you'll find the first sign for the Camino de Ronda so now you have to follow that and in an hour you'' get to  La Mora. The way is easy and beautiful but be careful with some very slippery rocks.  In La Mora there is nothing else just a huge camping, some holiday apartments by the beach and a couple of restaurants . From there you can continue the walk by the coast and you 'll get to Playa Waikiki or further to Tarragona. These  are wide sandy beaches with some waves usually , crystal clear waters and the amazing pine forest smell thanks for the hills surrounding the area.

Camino de Ronda  between Tossa de Mar and the Cala Pola

You can go to Tossa de Mar from Estacion de Nord, and the return ticket is 24 euros  , the journey is around 90 minutes. You have to buy the tickets at the Sarbus company's window. When you arrive to Tossa , go till the Mar Menuda  beach , and turn left at the end of the road , when there is no other chance anyway , jut to turn left a bit uphill, just continue until you see that little blue arrow , which is on the picture, and enter the garage gate-looking thing. From here you just have to follow the path and the blue arrows (there are not many , it is not too well signed, but the path is quite obvious). The whole walk is not longer than an hour. You will have some great  views and pass by a nice little bay, with a restaurant in it , and during july and august a lot of motorboats as well. Sadly the pine forest here is dying for some reason, so now it is not as green and shady as it was before , but still beautiful, you have to go there soon, before all the trees die! The Cala Pola itself is a perfect place for swimming and snorkeling it is very clean and turquoise blue, but in august i wouldn't recommend because of the motorboats and the lot of people from the Camping Pola. Between the end of may and the beginning of september the camping is open , so you can buy food here, and they have small supermarket with bakery. It is a nice camping in this calm valley with the bay, so to sleeping there also can be a good idea if yo have time. If you are too tired to walk back to Tossa you can go by the bus  of Hotel Giverola, in the Camping they have information about it and you can buy the tickets as well.
This is where the path begins.

If you don't want to walk you can take the glass bottom boat as well and get out at the Cala Pola, although it is bit expensive.

Path between Vilanova i la Geltru and Sitges

Trains go from Estacion de Francia to Vilanova, it takes around 40 minutes to get there and a return ticket costs 7,20 euros. In Vilanova you have to go to the beach in oder to find the beginning of the path, just cross the beach on the sand and at the further side you'll see stairs going up to the top of the stonewall. The path runs between the train line and the sea, it is really nice though. There are a couple of bays on the way , but mostly with nudist man, although probably on a weekday they are not too popular, so it could be possible to find a bay where there is no one. the nicest parts are when the train goes into a tunnel and you have to climb a small hill, and have the view of the whole coastline. There are several points where you could decide to turn towards the hills , and follow a different path, we didn't do that this time but probably will do later, cause they looked really exciting. This walk from Vilanova to Sitges is only 6 km, so it can be done in 1,5 hours easily, but i suggest to stop and go down to one bay and have a swim, before you get back to Sitges.  When you arrive to Sitges, you will have to walk for long on the promenade by the beach which is full of luxurious  villas , and some french-riviera -like atmosphere. In Sitges there are many good restaurants, it worth to try for example La Menta, which is not far from the train station, but now i can't explain where exactly it is , better to just ask a local. This is an easy scenic walk on an unmistakable path, with perfect ending in the pretty Sitges.
The beach of Vilanova was a perfect place to collect little trashures, for our project, which you can check out here  www.darktrashures.blogspot.com

promenade in Sitges

On the way back we stop in Figaro. This village lies in the valley , just on the border of the Montseny Natural Park. I totally recommend the "platos combinados" in the first bar on the main street, it was cheap and delicious. Now just follow the river direction to Vic and you get to the beginning of a nice little path on the right of the street. This path is very romantic with blooming trees, small waterfalls on the cute river, friendly dogs, bees, green hills around, playing butterflies, just what i needed! Unfortunately the path is not too long, the walk to the old church at the end and back , can be done in an hour. From Figaro it takes about an hour to get back to Barcelona, there is no timetable or ticket office at the station so you can buy your ticket on the train. There are a couple of other tracks going out of Figaro which can be interesting, i hope i'll have the possibility to discover those as well, later on.

Thursday market in Sant Cugat de Valles

It takes around half an hour to get to Sant Cugat with the Ferrocariles de La Generalitat from Plaza Catalunya. It is quite a nice trip on the train as it crosses some forest areas around Barcelona , with some nice flowery trees, not crowded with industrial buildings like other suburb areas of Barcelona. I will wander around in other villages by this train line later , cause they look nice. Sant Cugat is a pretty little town,at least the center of it is. There is calm countryside atmosphere in the air, but you find surprisingly fancy shops on the main streets, even an Apple store , which you won't find in Barcelona. The market is quite big there are only a few second hand clothes seller, but many new clothes, kitchen utensils, house textile stands. The market is on some nice streets and around the medieval monastery. It is a really nice atmosphere, but the only thing i thought was better to buy than in Barcelona ware plants, there are many plant sellers, with big variety , and good quality plants, usually for cheaper than on the city. Also the second hand clothes were quite cheap and was possible to find some nice things for a few euros. Before i only heard people going to work to Sant Cugat, so i imagined some industrial, computer designed, boring, grey town, but it was a very positive disappointment after all!
